To
begin this web page, let us state that it is very easy to write or say
the word selfless. It is very difficult to get to the state of
consciousness of being selfless, however. It takes what one might
say, a life time. It takes total faith, total effort, total
obedience, total discipline, total perseverance, total courage, total
guts, and you get the picture, it is not easy, to say the least.
The
opposite of selfless however is selfish.
That is all that this world is, has been, or ever will be. Every
thing evolves around the self.
Your self might be different than mine, or it may have some
similarities, but they are still the same. All are opposed to the
grace of God. Some even call it the anti-Christ. I agree
with that concept.
The
self always, and only, asks one question, "What do I get out of
it?" Now don't think that we are opposed to the self,
that is just plain ole human nature. There is nothing wrong with
it, at all, unless one desires to seek the Kingdom of God. That is
where conflict is, going against human nature. The mind wants one
thing, and the heart wants something better.
Now
let us clear up this heart business. There is the human heart,
that we shall take out of the hands of the medical community, and state
that all it has experienced is human stuff. That is all it
knows. Another way of saying that is to say that it has only
experienced worldly stuff, or secular stuff, which means, without
God. But deep deep down, in the heart of hearts, is God, less than
the size of a tiny mustard seed, because the seed of spirit has not been
awakened, yet.
Let
us ask one question. When we observe various politicians, which ones
have the appearance of being mad, or angry, and which ones have the
appearance of being calm, respectful, and courteous? It is no
mistake, from our perspective, that one is on the left, and the other is
on the right.
Lest
you think that we are biased, we certainly have observed a few Democrats
that belong on the right. And a few Republicans that belong on the
left. But over all, there seems to be much more anger in the left,
than there is in the right. And some that do not know how to observe
human behavior misjudge God's passion for Satan's anger.
Let
us now quote from the second chapter of 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 (ESV);
Now
concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered
together to him, we ask you, brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind
or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to
be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one
deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion
comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of
destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god
or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God,
proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not remember that when I was still
with you I told you these things? And you know what is restraining him
now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of
lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so
until he is out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed,
whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to
nothing by the appearance of his coming. The coming of the lawless one
is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,
and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they
refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a
strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order
that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure
in unrighteousness.
Men and women drink essentially because they like the effect produced by alcohol. The sensation is so elusive that, while they admit it is injurious,
they cannot after a time differentiate the true from the false. (bigbook
page xxvi)
And
people wonder why this country is divided. Some people love lies -
from Satan,
and some people love truth - from God.
One
other aspect of human nature is, "Don't you mess with my turf."
This comes from competition,
because of expectations, rather than cooperation, which yields harmony. Competition
from the self demands that I am better than you are. Cooperation is simply, how
can we help each other, or even better, how can I help you?
The
anger comes to the forefront, when someone has messed with what we thought
was our turf, but are no longer in control, and the human emotions of
fear, anger, and resentment come to the forefront of our consciousness.
When
we do not have anything at stake, in any given situation, and we are only desirous
of seeking the will of God, we are always in a selfless helpful mode, with
an open mind, rather than a closed mind. That is our aim, to be
helpful.
WHAT
CAN WE GIVE TO THE SITUATION, RATHER THAN WHAT CAN WE GET OUT OF THE
SITUATION? And there is always plenty of help, here in America,
except when it comes to politics. Then it is down and dirty, and cut
throat, or a stab in the back, or what ever.
One
is Satan's realm, and the other is God's realm. God gives, Satan
takes. There is a difference in taking, and receiving. But let
us see what is in the book of Acts, in the twentieth chapter:
"Even some of you
will distort the truth in order to draw a following. Watch out! Remember
the three years I was with you--my constant watch and care over you
night and day, and my many tears for you.
"And now I entrust
you to God and the word of his grace--his message that is able to build
you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for
himself.
"I have never
coveted anyone's money or fine clothing. You know that these hands of
mine have worked to pay my own way, and I have even supplied the needs
of those who were with me. And I have been a constant example of how you
can help the poor by working hard. You should remember the words of the
Lord Jesus: `It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " (30-35
TLB)
This
begs the question, why should any government try to help anyone?
What has happened to us human beings that we are too busy to try to help
our brother, or sister, in need?
If
that concept was put into effect, there would be more conciliatory,
harmonious, peaceful, and humble tones, rather than the hate and anger that permeates the
airwaves on televisions, around the globe, in all countries. And
that is in public view. Wonder what goes on behind the scenes?
Churches,
Mosques, and Synagogues should help people in out reach programs, and
maybe more people would learn about love rather than hate.
The
point is that when the government gives anything away, politics are
involved in it, rather than love. God is love, and is not
political. And all I see in ALL politicians today is hate.
Jesus said that poor people will always be with us. He did not say
that they were with the governments of the world. Statesmen, on the
other hand, desire to help people, without gain.
And
I am sick and tired of hearing how poor some of the black community
is. There are more poor white people than there are poor black
people, here in the United States. Wonder why some of the highest
paid sports celebrities are black? Could it be because they are
good, and deserve it? All public political activists, promoting an
ungodly agenda, are perfectly
repulsive, to this soul. They would not recognize the truth if it
was presented in the most eloquent of ways, with champagne and
caviar. Maybe they do not know about the concept of denial, yet.
And
until the constitution changes, all we are guaranteed is equal rights,
not preferential rights. If people have a selfish, depraved, warped,
and reprobate mind, they can read other things into it, other than
equal. But that is in and of its self evil, and from the Devil.
Some
people just do not want blessings. Some, it seems, just want to stay
in their cup of please help me, rather than, what can I do to help you.
No
one has ever been able to out give God. And if anyone ever wants to
seek the journey to God, each will have to learn how to give, expecting
nothing in return; purity in charity. That is selflessness, in a nutshell.
Selfish giving, with an agenda, is not of God; it is evil, and from the
Devil too.
A
rebirth is required in this concept of things - selflessness, because not only do we need
an entire psychic change, we need a change of heart. Let us quote
the scripture, about the change of heart, from God's perspective:
Romans
2:28-29; For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of
Jewish parents or because you have gone through the Jewish ceremony of
circumcision. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God.
And true circumcision is not a cutting of the body but a change of
heart produced by God's Spirit. Whoever has that kind of change
seeks praise from God, not from people.
scribe's note: jesus was and still is the king of
god's jews.
Our
last observation, for this web page, is the concept of the Golden Rule,
which seems to have been lost in the shuffle, somewhere. My
generation was taught the golden rule in school, church, work, and at
home. Was actually in my forties before it dawned on me that it was
a quote from the bible.
"Do
unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Some
people are really going to be surprised when all that stuff they have put
out comes back at them. There is karma, whether people are aware of
it or not. Just because they are in politics, or are political
activists with an ungodly agenda, does not make them exempt from the law of reciprocity.
Wonder how stuffing ballot boxes with "dead people voting" or
hating people enough to support activities opposing the grace of God are going to
kick back, when they least expect it?
Every
deed has consequences. There will always be a reaction to every
action, whether it be for good or evil, sooner or later.
