Oh
how vain all human beings are, that make it to the rooms of anonymous
recovery. Let us quote from the original
anonymous text book, something that gives a very good description of me,
about thirty years ago, which is found on page forty nine, in the
chapter "We Agnostics:"
Instead of regarding ourselves as intelligent agents, spearheads of God's ever advancing Creation, we agnostics and atheists chose to believe that our human intelligence was the last word, the alpha and the omega, the beginning and end of all. Rather vain of us, wasn't it?
Must
admit that even though I have always believed in God, I was a very good
agnostic. Possibly, because religion convinced me that what ever we
did in this life was forgiven, because of what God's Son had accomplished,
at his crucifixion. And of course, God was only available in the
next life. If you believe that too, you need to read our
web page on faith.
Maybe
we need to ask the question, "How strong is our faith?"
All must perfectly understand that faith is the only thing that makes any
human being acceptable to God.
So,
do we really believe? Certainly, we have no
way of proving what is about to be written, but it gives confidence that what we are doing is right.
Don't
know where they get the names of some hurricanes, but the subject matter
of this web page concerns two recent storms, one that hit the gulf coast,
and the other that hovered around at the coast of the Carolinas; summer of 05.
Most
of my
stomping grounds have been the forty mile Grand Strand, and
the piedmont, in the northern Carolina, and over a dozen years were spent
in the Blue Ridge mountains. Certainly other continents and states have been
enjoyed by this soul, while I was "in the world." Now it
is our job to be of the world, but not in it.
How
can we be in two places at once? We are either in the world, or we
are in the Kingdom of God. A growing number of anonymous recovering
people are in transition, between the two, all headed in the right
direction.
The best thing about clearing away the
wreckage of the past so that we are eligible for God's Kingdom, with the first nine steps in the anonymous twelve
steps, is an original statement uttered by this scribe, "I am now a
has been, that never was."
The
favorite prayer
for the noahhite concept is chapter
seventeen, in
the gospel of John. Let us now quote verses fifteen and sixteen,
from that prayer, that the Christ spoke, through Jesus:
"I’m not asking
you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They are not part of this world any more than I am."
Now
to the meat of this web page, about power, through the authority of our
Heavenly Father. Claiming God's Holy
Word, in the bible, gives God the right to act, as he sees fit, based on a
person's faith. Hundreds of people have been worked with, not to
mention untold e-mails that have been sent, all believing in a power greater than
ourselves.
Could it be that enough of us believe, with all of our
heart, that have claimed the seventeenth chapter of John, that God
ordained the recent hurricane was not allowed to come on shore, in
the Carolinas?
Now
let us offer, for your consideration, what the powerful authority of the scriptures are:
Spiritual Blessings
How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ.
Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure.
So we praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved Son.
He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven.
He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
God's secret plan
has now been revealed to us; it is a plan centered on Christ, designed long ago according to his good pleasure.
And this is his plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ--everything in heaven and on earth.
Furthermore, because of Christ, we have received an inheritance from
God, for he chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as he decided long ago.
God's purpose was that we who were the first to
trust in Christ should praise our glorious God.
And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.
The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.
Paul's Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom
Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for Christians everywhere,
I have never stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly,
asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future he has promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people.
I pray that
you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for
us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ
from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand
in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come. And God has put all things under the authority of Christ, and he gave him this authority for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is filled by Christ, who fills everything everywhere with his presence.

Some in
Washington think that their political power is the best that this world
has to offer. What a shame.
