The Fall of Man
Now the serpent was
more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said
to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree
in the garden'?"
The woman said to the
serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but
God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle
of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "
"You will not
surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God
knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be
like God, knowing good and evil."
When the woman saw that
the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and
also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also
gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes
of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they
sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. (genesis
3:1-5 NIV)
but
let us back up a touch, to get the full implications of what the real deal
is.
The LORD God took the
man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any
tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely
die." (genesis 2:15-17
NIV)
a week or
two ago, heard some one on radio say that it was adam's fault that eve ate
the forbidden fruit, of the knowledge of good and evil. will not
argue with him. each has to make up their own mind about whether
that is true or false. suspect that we all need god's understanding,
about this issue though.
nonetheless
however, which ever way it turns out, hopefully, we can agree that this
was not only the first act of disobedience, but more important, it was the
very first "liberal" act relative to actual defiance.
remember reading, in the twelve and twelve, in the second step, that
"defiance is an outstanding characteristic of an alcoholic;" in
the "contents" description of the second step, not in
chapter two.
also, in
the bigbook, it states, in "how it works" that "we are
children of god." there were only a few hundred, max, when the
book was written, in 1937, and ultimately published in 1939. but
after about seventeen years, or so, and the 12 and 12 was published, after
they had witnessed thousands of groups, and tens of thousands of us
alcoholics, the author came to the conclusion that we were actually
"children of chaos," rather than children of god. :-)
but now,
am going to take a different tack entirely. listen to a talk radio
show, frequently, that deals with racism, and it's linked difficulties, at
least once a week, it seems. and it seems that there is a
"bad" decision, in a southern state, that has people up in arms,
so to speak, about a verdict, relative to a public school that has a tree,
that only white people are supposed to sit around. no comment, by
me, however....
we are
going after much bigger fish, the size of a giant
whale, in this dissertation.
yes, i know a whale is not a fish.
don't
know how accurate any poll is, but it seems that all post election polls
historically show the black community always votes ninety percent for the
dems. if you will view this "ten most dangerous cities" web
page, you
will see that all ten are controlled by the dems. and it also seems
that many cities are at critical mass, relative to black on black crime;
detroit, philly, washington, baltimore, etc. at the end of the 2000
election cycle, a graphic
had blue counties with a murder rate over six times higher than red
counties.
recent
stats also state that the black community, thirteen percent of our
nation's population, commits about fifty percent of the murders, here in
america. and about ninety percent of the blacks that are murdered,
are murdered by blacks. but rather than look at what socialism has
done to them, the most public profile black personalities jump the jet
planes, to the deep south, and proclaim that it is the fault of slavery,
that the problem exists, around the tree, in a southern state, while ignoring
all of the murder that is going on all around them, in most large cities.
things socialism
has done to them, which was not apart of american culture, during slavery,
are as follows:
break
up of the family, because of paying all poor people to have babies; they
do not need a father's income. (war on poverty - which created more
poverty without two incomes - welfare by the dems)
abortion
of forty million babies, that diminishes the respect for life. (liberal
supreme court - roe vs. wade. but it is important to save the owls
and woodpeckers etc.; liberal greenies)
taking
prayer out of school. (democrat's congress giving in to the
atheists)
a
school agenda that teaches marxist and communist's principles, rather
than creation, as well as evolution, the feminization
of america, global
warming
caused by
humans, and political
correctness. (left wing teacher's unions)
sex
education classes, in our school system, which introduces them to sexual
activity sooner than earlier generations. (left wing teacher's
unions)
lack of
discipline, compared to earlier generations. (liberals
- america's enemy)
suspect
that we could increase the list, but that gives us a slight clue, as to
where most of society is headed. there is a statement in the bigbook
about "we are in the grips of a progressive illness." the
illness is that we harbor ill feelings, towards others.
and the
truth is that the world, and it's secular agenda, is going to continue,
the same way it has gone, for the last six thousand years, whether the
dems are in power or not. god has
not retired satan, yet.
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
all jesus
had to say was, "satan,
get thee behind me."
but
rest assured, there are people that want to control you, hold you down,
make you their slaves to poverty, for their selfish gain of power, in
washington. that is why our founding fathers of america knew that we
had to have statesmen with state's power, not federal fools
from the darkest hell. watch out who you vote for!
and if you do not like the laws in your state, find a state that has laws
that match your values.
now, some
spiritual truths. the wages of sin is death. love god with all
of your mind, strength, might, and heart. love your neighbor as your
self. do unto others as you would have them do unto you. these
were important teachings, when i was a child. and truthfully, i
really enjoyed being around many grownups - black and white, because they
all had so much wisdom. and always wanted to learn from them, since
i was so inferior, in my own mind. now, there is a culture of pop
stuff, like it always has been, the renegades, that just can't rebel
enough, it seems.
Rarely have we seen a
person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not
recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to
this simple program,
usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest
with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault;
they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of
grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous
honesty. Their chances are less than average. There are those, too, who
suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders, but many of them do
recover if they have the capacity to be honest. (bigbook
page 58)
have
heard it said, when asked if he would change anything in the bigbook, one
of the co-founders of a. a. said, "I would change the beginning word
in "how it works" to never, rather than rarely." on the other
hand, have heard, for many years, "thoroughly have we seen people
fail, who have rarely followed our path."
