Let us
start with the following decree, which we find on page ninety eight,
in the original text book, in the chapter "Working with Others:"
Argument and faultfinding are to be avoided like the plague.
Guess
that we need a few definitions, so that we can at least have a flimsy link
to each other, regardless of what our personal opinions might be, which am sure
will have a broad spectrum, considering that we are in the United States
of America. But sooner or later, we MUST come together, because
"united
we stand, divided we fall."
Does
anyone remember the fall of Rome? Or maybe America is headed to
being a has been like Rome. My personal opinion on that is that God will never
let that happen, regardless of who must die, or be retired. There is still far too much that needs to be
accomplished, in this world, in the millennium rule of Christ, of which
America must play a vital role.
An over
view of the next thousand years, since Christ is now in control, rather
than Satan, is that there will be conflict like never before. For
six thousand years, it went the way that Satan liked it. But now,
since God is changeless, everything is going to change, and there are some
mighty pissed off people, all around the globe. Resistance to change
is definitely causing hostility, globally. God's Son says that He conquered
the world. Let us all hope that it is true.
Now let
us take a look at the following definitions:
argument:
1. A discussion in which disagreement is expressed; a
debate*.
2. A quarrel; a dispute.
fault
finding:
1. Petty or nagging criticism; carping.
2. Disposed to find fault; critical.
plague:
1. A widespread affliction or calamity, especially one seen as divine retribution.
2. A sudden destructive influx or injurious outbreak: a plague of locusts; a plague of accidents.
3. A cause of annoyance; a nuisance: “the plague of social jabbering” (George Santayana).
fault:
1. A character weakness, especially a minor one.
2. Something that impairs or detracts from physical perfection; a defect.
3. A mistake; an error.
4. A minor offense or misdeed.
blame:
1. To hold responsible.
2. To find fault with; censure.
3. To place responsibility for (something): blamed the crisis on poor planning.
Somebody
help me out. Where have I read, "we had to drop the word blame
from our vocabulary?"
First,
let us take a look at the facts that hit the northern gulf coast, here in
America, recently. Seems that Katrina - sure am glad that I did not
come up with that name - hit land at about eight am, Monday morning,
August 29, 2005, east of New Orleans. That night, probably after all of the rain and wind
had
moved on, the levee began to break, in New Orleans, at several
locations. So when we woke up Tuesday morning, what had been a
bullet that seemed to have been dodged, in that the hurricane did not hit
New Orleans directly, something much worse had occurred. And what
many natives had feared, for many decades, really did indeed
occur. New Orleans was under water.
Heard
a news blip on 9/19/05, in the early morning news cycle, that the levees
began to break, Monday afternoon, rahter than Monday night, and even the
news media was not informed. Wow.
It is my
understanding that when a hurricane is supposed to hit, things are moved
toward the target area. But with Katrina, seems that things had to
be redirected, during the on slough of high winds and probable destruction of
the man power and equipment that was on the way to help, to get out of the
way, because it was further east than they had anticipated, which threw
them off of their original plan. And certainly all of the water in
New Orleans threw everybody a curve ball that nobody knew how to
hit. It is not like we get to practice real catastrophes. We
have to deal with them, one minute at a time, after the fact, and since
only God is perfect, we fallible human beings just have to cope with our
own inadequacies.
As a
child, in the fifties, personally witnessed the destruction of hurricane
Hazel, in South Carolina, seeing piles of wood, refrigerators, ranges,
doors, windows, and roofing ad infinitum, on and around the ocean front,
and nothing was left standing, what so ever. But friends, that was a few blocks. Katrina had it's
way with, they say, 90,000 square miles, in three states. The area definitely
needs America's help. And if you are in a position that you can not
offer your assistance, you can at least pray.
But back
to the reason for this web page. Any of you out there in the
hinterland dumbfounded at how politics have seemed to deteriorate, in
recent years? Have been trying to understand what the real deal is,
with some, here in America, as to what their anger is really about, other than
losing the power and prestige of both houses in congress, the white house,
and now the supreme court might even be in jeopardy, insofar as a probable
swing to the right.
But
rather than pointing fingers at their opposition, maybe they need to learn
about personal inventory, and corrections of the wrong that they find, to
solve their problems. But if what is seen, in the arrogant media,
relative to trying to place blame on those in power, doubt that there will
be any support, for correcting their own error (s), yet.
Guess that some are angry, but who should they
really be angry at? The great nation of the United States of America is
speaking, loud and clear, and "we the people" do not like the agenda of the extreme
left wing, period! In the last election cycle, over seventy five
percent of the people defeated an extreme left wing agenda, in eleven
states. And most do not like the agenda of the extreme
right either.
Sure do
hope that things do not disintegrate, here in America, like I have seen on
news programs, to the level of fist fights in various government houses or
parliaments, in other
countries. Maybe a lot of those people need anger management classes
too. :-)
At
present, there are about one hundred million of us that do not like to
vote, and don't. And with the current display of hostility and anger,
which is total negativity displayed by a few, that emanates from the darker side
of human nature, there might be another withdrawal from the political
scene, en mass. Surely, none can find it inviting.
Let me
close this web page with this thought. Competition seems to keep
getting us into deeper doo doo. Cooperation seems to iron things out,
for smooth sailing. Which do you choose?
*remember
reading in the 12 and 12 that we have resigned from the debating
society, thank god.
