wow,
am truly humbled, and overwhelmed. the most listened to
conservative radio talk show host is in second place, by a long shot,
based on the number of daily e-mails compared to listeners, relative
to a message received from the throne room. also, it really
shocked me, considering the routine hits that the web site produces,
on a daily basis. as a matter of fact, the e-mails that you all
send out each day exceeds the combined totals of the alphabet
networks, cable news programs, plus mr. limbaugh's totals, by a bunch!
keep up the good work guys and gals, god needs your help.
on
one of our web pages, we mention that if anyone would like this
information to go forward, please delete the sender's e-mail address -
because of anonymity, if it is forwarded.
seems that MANY have practiced that principle - copy and paste - on a
variety of our topics in the noahhite web site. let us all
praise and thank god for the internet.
the
main reason for the anonymity is that if a name is mentioned, like
bush or clinton, we are automatically divided, or at least prejudiced.
without my name being on the forwarded info, there was no chance for a
predetermined opinion, and god had a chance to get in the fray, with
the conflict that is in every human being alive. that is because
personalities do have an influence, that hinders an open mind.
if all of my garbage was known, many would have a predetermined
opinion too. "that dumb fool;" principles before
personalities.
"We
will not regret the past, nor wish to shut the door on it."
(bigbook page
84)
even though
mine - the past - still stinks, because it is a screen door.
seems
that much crying was felt by god, and many prayers went up to the one
that has all power - based on our announcement at the bottom of this link,
and there will be a new effort and section on our site, for two very
important aspects of anonymous recovery; prayer and meditation.
please keep in mind that not all will be victorious, and the bible
applies only to "knowledge of god's will for us," in step
eleven. and we definitely need to keep our stuff out of ALL
anonymous fellowship meetings, period. they are the way they are
supposed to be.
first,
to ALL newcomers. please click and subscribe at this address,
if you are in the original fellowship, for the daily e-mail, from the
little black book. they have a daily e-mail available from
their "24 hours a day," book which has a daily a. a.
thought, meditation, and prayer. when this scribe started, all
that could be understood was the puking and morning after stale smoke
in bar rooms etc., rather than all of the heavenly bullshit, that
totally went over my head, for years. the old farts kept
telling me, after my sharing in meetings, "boy, you keep bringing
your body, and your mind will follow."
all
of their available selections are in the bottom of the panel on the
right. of course this applies to those that do not have the
little black book, or others. but if your inter-group does not
have it available, please ask them to stock it, so that the groups
that sell literature, at their meetings, can at least offer it.
as
time progressed, many different meditation books were read, each and
every day, without fail. and when travel was required, or even
for vacation, the FIRST thing that was packed was the little black
book. my favorite in a list of seven or eight, of all times,
which seems to be most focused on the kingdom of god, is "god
calling." at three plus years into abstinence, went into a
christian book store to purchase it, and heard people in there
praising the lord, and i knew i was in the wrong place, so hurriedly
purchased the book, and left. the main reason that it was
desired was that someone told me that god calling was an expansion of
the meditation section of the little black book. or, conversely,
the little black book section on meditation is a condensation, of the
god calling meditation, for the same day.
in
the third edition of the bigbook, for all of you very good agnostics,
like me, there is a personal story that has a line in it, "in
exchange for a bottle and a hang over, we have been given the keys
of the kingdom," or something close to that. :-)
one
of my many sponsors was an old army drill sergeant, and he hated it
when the little black book was read at the beginning of closed a. a.
meetings, because it was not conference approved literature! of
course now, we have the "daily reflections," which is
conference approved literature, and is also recommended. the
last time that i ever saw john was when he got up and left a meeting
in progress, because someone picked up a start over chip, for
something other than alcohol. the other group that he joined
gained tremendously!
the
most important public policy statement of a. a. is, "we neither
indorse nor oppose any cause."
